On Tuesday, Oct. 25, we hosted our annual birthday celebration of St. Jeanne Jugan. During this event, Angela “Angel” Robbins, Throop, received the St. Jeanne Jugan Award. The Award is given annually to an employee who exemplifies the spirit of St. Jeanne Jugan and embodies a work ethic of humble service to the elderly poor.
Angel, who has worked as a dining aide at Holy Family Residence for the past eight years, said she enjoys working with us for many different reasons but particularly enjoys the warm and generous spirit of the home.
“You feel like you’re with your family, and it’s not hard to take care of your family,” said Robbins.
When asked how it felt to receive the award, Angel’s answer reflected her spirit and provided a clear indication of why she was nominated by her co-workers to receive the award.
“It’s an honor that is really hard to live up to. Everyone who works at Holy Family Residence should have received it,” said Robbins.
