Little Sisters of the Poor to Host Public Three-Day Retreat

As part of their “Year of Faith” special events, the Little Sisters of the Poor are pleased to host a three-day Marian retreat led by the Rev. Frederick Miller May 13-15 in the chapel at Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton.
The schedule for each day is as follows:
- 10:30 a.m.: Mass
- 2:30 p.m.: Sacrament of Reconciliation
- 4:30 p.m.: informative talk with various themes centralized on the Blessed Mother followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, silent prayer, evening prayer, and benediction.
The public is welcome to attend any portion or all of these free events.
Father Miller, who is a professor of systematic theology at Mount St. Mary’s University, Emmitsburg, Md., is one of the pre-eminent Marian theologians in the United States. He is an active contributor to EWTN Global Catholic Network where he has appeared on various programs, authored articles pertaining to the Blessed Mother, and most recently developed the “Novena to the Mother of God for the Nation.” Father Miller has also written numerous articles for various Catholic publications including Angelicum, Christ to the World, and Marian Studies. A sought after speaker, Father Miller has presented hundreds of workshops and lectures at various colleges, universities, and conferences throughout the United States.
