Story and photos by Jackie Galvin, director of development and communications | April 9, 2018
The children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of our Residents and staff sure had a great time on Saturday at our Home’s annual Easter party and egg hunt sponsored by our activities department. The whole gang feasted on hot dogs, chips, sugar cookies, fruit punch, and of course chocolate as they listened to some great music played by DJ Dr. Dragon – the practitioner of entertainment.
Following the mid-afternoon treat, the kids headed outside to hunt for eggs. After searching and scooping up all of the eggs hidden in the patio and pavilion area behind our home, the children headed back inside to our auditorium to crack open their plastic eggs and discover some delicious chocolate treats! After they devoured their goodies, all of the children enjoyed a spirited game of musical chairs followed by a visit from the Easter Bunny himself! It really was so nice of the Bunny to make a special trip to Scranton just for us considering how busy he was last weekend.
As you can tell by the pictures, the children really enjoyed themselves. Thanks again to everyone who attended and to Activities Director Lisa Blaker, Activities Aide Marie Roberts, and the Marywood University students who made this day “eggtra” special for our little visitors!
Until Next Time,
Jackie
