I know I say it every year about our golf tournament, but it is TRUE every year; the Little Sisters of the Poor’s annual golf tournament once again broke its attendance and fundraising goal by raising over $35,000!!!! That is just incredible!!!! And, it brings us that much closer to purchasing our new bus for our Residents.
We are so grateful to all of the golfers who played, the businesses and families who provided sponsorships and prizes (check out the event program by clicking here >>) and to our dedicated team of volunteers who helped make the event move so smoothly: Aileen Alunni; Mary Lou Fiala, social services designee; Father E. Francis Kelly, chaplain; Bev Polcha, R.N., assistant director of nursing; Barb Politowski, housekeeping and laundry supervisor; Cathy Skrutski; Donna Solon, housekeeping and laundry; and Marlene Tonkin, receptionist.
We are also indebted to our tournament committee who helped plan such a tremendously successful event: Tournament Co-Chairmen Bob Blaker, Gene Cosgrove, Chris James, and Patrick J. Sheridan; Debbi Bean, R.N., director of nursing; Joan Blaker; Lisa Blaker, director of activities and volunteer coordinator; Charlie Butler; Karen Caruso, development assistant; Atty. Jim Conaboy; Atty. Kevin Conaboy; Mike Crossin; Theresa Durkin; Jackie Galvin, M.S., director of development and communications; Tracy Genell; Bill and Kathy Hughes; Pete and MaryCarol Kanton; Ann Kwak; Bill McDonough; Atty. Jerry Musheno; Carole Paswinski; Eddie Ruddy; Pat Salmon; Kim Simchak, business office manager; Janet Skibinski; Tim Speicher; Dave and Joyce Tressler; Sister Marie Therese, l.s.p.; and Mother Theresa Louisa, l.s.p.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to WNEP-TV 16 for producing such a beautiful commercial for us, WNEP meteorologist Kurt Aaron and investigative reporter Dave Bohman for playing in the tournament, Lamar Advertising for donating billboard space, and Matt Burne Honda for providing a new car for our hole in one contest. (Unfortunately, nobody landed that perfect shot, but maybe somebody will next year!)
Until Next Time,
Jackie
