On Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 2:30 p.m., nearly two dozen canine companions walked the runway during the Little Sisters of the Poor’s annual National Dog Day dog show at Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton. The Little Sisters host this summer event for the enjoyment of the residents entrusted to their care.
The show, which was sponsored by local veterinarian Dr. Robert J. Noto of Memorial Veterinary Hospital, Dickson City, Throop, and Old Forge, featured dogs of all shapes and sizes which belong to employees and friends of the residence. This annual summertime tradition also included a pet blessing by the Rev. E. Francis Kelly, chaplain of Holy Family Residence, as well as music by DJ Bill Roditski, treat bags and St. Francis of Assisi medals for all of the participants, a meet and greet with the residents, and an ice cream social.
