Little Sisters of the Poor to Host Public Three-Day Retreat July 23-25

As part of their “Year of Faith” special events, the Little Sisters of the Poor are pleased to host a three-day retreat led by the Rev. James Kubicki, SJ, July 23-25 in the chapel at Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton.
The schedule for each day is as follows:
- 10:30 a.m.: Mass
- 2:30 p.m.: Sacrament of Reconciliation
- 4:30 p.m.: informative talk with various themes centered on the Sacred Heart of Jesus followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, silent prayer, evening prayer, and benediction.
The Enthronement of the Sacred Heart will also be conducted by Father here in our home.
The public is welcome to attend any portion or all of these free events.
Fr. Kubicki, who is a contributor to many radio and television programs, is also a popular conference speaker, retreat director, and parish mission speaker. His areas of expertise include the Eucharist, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Spiritual Exercises, and the practical spirituality of the Apostleship of Prayer.
Fr. Kubicki’s involvement with the Apostleship of Prayer goes back to his high school days when he first encountered the monthly leaflets with the Holy Father’s intentions. In 1995 he became the Wisconsin Province Director of the Apostleship of Prayer, and in 1997 he became a member of the Apostleship’s national board of directors. He became National Director on July 31, 2003.
